The purpose of the Mission for Biblical Literacy is to open the Truth of the Scriptures with love by teaching and serving people through compassionate relationships.

Our mission is Biblical Literacy. We offer resource materials and motivation for congregations and groups of Christians to study the Bible through shared discovery. We also serve as "the Bible people read" through ministries of compassion, teaching, care-giving, and training in settings around the world. From direct care in orphanages in Russia and Armenia to nutrition in Haiti to Bible schools in Nicaragua, the Mission for Biblical Literacy is taking the Bible and its message of faith, hope and love to the world. Beginning in the Fall, 2011, we will renew the "Feasts of the Scriptures" program inaugurated by our Founder, the late Dr. Roger N. Carstensen. Look on this site for a video of Dr. Carstensen teaching about...the Bible.

We have moved! The Mission for Biblical Literacy has moved it's offices from Savannah to Athens, Georgia. The new office is located at 975 Gaines School Road, Athens,GA 30605. The Mission is grateful to Friendship Christian Church for hosting us for two years. It is only fitting that MBL secure a home in Athens as it originally began its ministry in this city! MBL has called Mrs. Jocelyn Harris to provide administrative oversight. She assumed this duty as of August 15, 2013 and provides her services on a half-time basis during the week. We all, with the help of many around the world, look forward to an exciting future for the Mission for Biblical Literacy!
